5 Fun Things To Do With Kids Over Thanksgiving
If there’s one thing that makes Thanksgiving a great time (it’s definitely not the cleaning that comes afterwards)..
It’s without a shadow of a doubt the time spent with family.
And for those of us lucky to have little ones, the time spent with our bundles of joy.
Now, there’s numerous things that you could get up to over the Thanksgiving break with your kids..
Here are some of our personal favorites at FizzWizz:
#1: Take A Walk
Take a Walk. Pick an enjoyable destination.
It doesn’t need to be far, or over the top.
Is there a park close by? Or do you live in a fairly peaceful neighbourhood?
Yes? Then go there!
All you need to bring are your sneakers and some FizzWizz (obviously) in case there’s a bottle or sippy cup emergency on the way!
#2: Pick Out the Boardgames
Get out those games you have in the closet since last Christmas and haven’t played yet.
Scrabble, Life, Yahtzee, Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, Trouble, Chutes & Ladders, whatever! Have some silly fun!
There’s one thing for sure- kids LOVE games. (thankfully, with the right company, you probably do too)
Get out the instruments, guitars, piano. Dust off that accordion. Bring out the tambourines, spoons, etc.
Put on a holiday radio station and sing along. Make up a contest. You can really have fun with this.
#4: Treasure Hunt
Create a simple treasure map and “prizes.” There can be one prize or multiple prizes, like an egg-hunt.
Ideas for prizes: chocolate turkeys (is there such a thing?) or a packet of coins or a gift certificate wrapped up in a box.
#5: Arts and Crafts
Now I might be the only one that absolutely loved arts and crafts when I was younger, but I’m willing to take bets that I wasn’t ..
We all have an inherent willingness to create. It makes us feel good inside. It’s as if that’s what we were put here to do.
And newsflash, kids are the same!
We came across a great list of arts and crafts ideas that might help you get your creative juices flowing here.
To Sum Up
In short, theres definitely lots you can get up to over Thanksgiving. Especially with family and your little ones.
We plan on having a great one- and would absolutely LOVE to hear what you’ve got planned.
What are you going to get up to with the family? Any creative activities? Let’s hear from you in the comments 🙂
